Published by Olympia in London, England, The Loving Little Frog is a charming and humorous tale about how a tiny tadpole, tired of her small pond, bursts out of the water, turns into a frog, and meets an unlikely and ironic friend on the beach - a fly. She is led to the big city to learn about life on land and discovers that the crazy human creatures therein behave very differently than those back in the pond; and the difference is selfless love.
The little frog is back, but this time she finds herself on a farm instead of the city, and has made some new friends. With a migrating snow goose and a loyal dog as her guides, she learns all kinds of cool facts about the loyalty of farm animals, and about how to be loyal herself!
At the heart of Derek's illustrations is a love for storytelling. It is based in the belief that visual art can bring a story to life in a way that words alone cannot. Derek is dedicated to creating illustrations that not only look beautiful, but also enhance the story being told.

The second installment in The Little Frog series is about loyalty...and it's all finished! Written during the publishing of The Loving Little Frog, the last illustration is finally done and ready for production.
Written while awaiting Derek's first publication, the script for a graphic novel aimed at a slightly-older audience is set in the fairy tale land of Ambulan, is completely written, and awaiting illustrations. Stay tuned!
Another Little Frog book is written and just waiting to be illustrated! This one goes back to the age of the dinosaurs and follows as the frog learns about loads of interesting facts about giant reptile diets as she tries to discover her own uniqueness when it comes to food (and other more important things).
It could be said that art and creativity have been the defining characteristics of Derek G. Fuller's life.
Whether winning art competitions and designing his own T-shirts in high school, playing every instrument on the studio recordings of his
original music, selling his one-of-a-kind hand-painted wall art worldwide, finding a career and passion in woodworking and furniture-making, or recently writing and illustrating children's books, Derek always has something creative on the go. Even from early childhood, classical treasures like the symphony, ballet, and even opera have had profound and lasting emotional effect and influence in his development.
While this site primarily exists to feature his children's book illustrations, click the link provided below to view Derek's other works as well. Enjoy!
